ART PARTY: Kitty's Specialty Shop

April's Art Party is a little unconventional in that it will not feature an artist, but rather a shop from the past.  "Kitty's Specialty Shop" was a women's lingerie shop in Brooklyn, NY that closed in the early 1970's.  The owners moved to Tucson in 1973 with their incredible inventory in-tow.  The Tucson location never opened and the contents of the shop were stored away.  Fast forward 40+ years.  How Sweet It Was Vintage is invited to the house to view the inventory:

This was such a special buy, not only in terms of volume and that it is ALL deadstock; but also in how it so perfectly encapsulates a specific time, place and taste.  To just piece it out in our own shop didn't feel like enough.

For the month of April we will re-open Kitty's Specialty Shop.  Late 1960's-early 1970's fashion illustrations and original vintage advertisements for the brands available will be on display.  Please join us for the opening reception and find your next favorite lounge outfit, jammies, panties, slips, you name it.  All sizes!  Drinks, shopping and a DJ set by Alix Fallows & Alice Wilsey.  We hope to see you for this special unveiling.
